Mount Evans

Mount Evans is a beautiful mountain range located in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains that reaches an elevation of over 14,000 feet.

There are many recreational activities that people can do on this mountain, including hiking, camping, fishing and skiing (in the winter). The road to Mount Evans is also open all year round for those who want to visit but don’t want to take advantage of these activities. Once you arrive at the top, there is a parking lot with bathrooms available and picnic tables.

In order to access Mt. Evans, you need to follow Colfax Avenue east until it splits off into E. 121st Avenue and E 120th Ave; continue along E 120th Ave/CO-128 for about 7 miles until signs indicate a left turn onto Mount Evans Road. The following are reasons why you should visit Mount Evans:

Reason 1: Hiking up to Summit Lake

Summit Lake is a frozen lake located right below the summit of Mt.Evans that offers beautiful scenery and great photo opportunities. The trail leading up to the lake is about 2 miles long, but it’s not too difficult as there are some switchbacks that make the walk easier on the legs. Once you arrive at summit lake, there are several locations for pictures including by the water sign and on top of rocks around the area. If you decide to stay overnight, you can set up your tent anywhere (no camping fees required) or you can hike further along Basin road which has other clearings for tents and campfires.

Reason 2: Skiing on the road to Mt. Evans

If you prefer snow sports, you can stop by Echo Lake that has a ski resort located right in front of it. If you want to go skiing or snowboarding during winter, you can also visit Echo Mountain which is open from 9 am-4 pm daily and it offers season passes for $48 every day or $42 for those under 18 years old. You also have the option of buying day passes at $32 each. There are two lifts available at this location: The Chair 2 (fixed-grip quad chair) and The Platter lift (Poma lift). This mountain range is an excellent place if you’re looking for fresh powder.

Reason 3: Hiking all over Mt. Evans

Aside from Summit Lake, there are many other places worth hiking. For example Summit of Mt. Evans which allows you to get a spectacular view of the Rocky Mountains or Tahoe Meadows which offers scenic views of waterfalls and meadows that provide nice landscapes for photos. Reason 4: Visiting Echo Mountain Chalet

Echo Mountain Chalet is open from Wednesday through Sunday throughout spring and summer (closed in winter). Some activities offered at this location include guided tours, mountain bike classes, Segway tours and photography classes. Every Friday at 4 pm sharp they offer free live music concerts that are definitely fun to attend with family and friends! There’s also a restaurant located next door called the Golden Peak Restaurant & Pub which offers American cuisine with international flavors.

Reason 5: Fish in Echo Lake

There are a variety of fish at Echo Lake that you can catch including rainbow trout, Kokanee salmon and yellow perch. There’s also a bait shop right across from the parking lot if you don’t have your own equipment or tools. Many fishermen go to this lake as it is easy to access and has plenty of fish available. Reason 6: Viewing Pikes Peak from Mt. Evans

Pikes Peak is a famous landmark in the United States that many people visit to see its stunning views. It is located at the southern edge of Colorado Springs and offers great vistas of the front range of the Rockies. You can also visit the Summit House for some food and souvenirs or go for a hike on Barr Trail which takes you 7 miles from start to finish with an elevation gain of 2,000 feet!
